Schooling show next Saturday May 3rd beginning at 9:30 am. Concessions by Coyote Den Coffee (will be by the soccer field under a tent)
Welcome all horse enthusiasts! We are looking forward to a great year in 2008. With three schooling shows already scheduled and clinics in the process we hope to have lots of fun while gaining knowledge and experience in the ever ongoing relationships with our horses.
We welcome your suggestions for this site and hope you will bookmark it for further reference, as we will be updating it continuously as needed.
This site is brand new, so bare with us as we develop and grow, drop us a line sometime, or better yet, come to a meeting or event and introduce yourself!
AVDA BACKGROUND
AVDA is a chapter of Rocky Mountain Dressage. (If you join our club you will also become a participating member of the United States Dressage Federation .) AVDA was started in 2007 to serve those interested in the sport of dressage or for gaining knowledge in the training principles for other disciplines. Our coverage includes as far west as the Alamosa area to the eastern plains of Pueblo. We also have members from other areas and of course, anyone is welcome to join. Our current members practice reining, gaited horsemanship, jumping, team penning, trail riding, long lining, and Parelli methods as well as dressage. Breeds thus far are Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horses, Arabians, Fresians, Warmbloods, Foxtrotters, etc. So you see, we are open to everyone however we are a dressage club and we are dedicated to the principles of training that comes from centuries of knowledge, all the way up to present day revelations. Our meetings are every 3rd Thursday of each month
at the Canon Inn in Canon City at 6 pm. unless otherwise posted.
