Clubs & Associations

 

Arkansas Valley Dressage Association (AVDA):  A club devoted to the classical training using humane methods from hundreds of years, for all disciplines of riding and all breed.  They welcome everyone with a love for the horse! Colorado Rebels Riding Club has scheduled their 2007 winter series at the Fremont County Fairgrounds.  Events will start at 9am on Sunday February 18, Western Pleasure, Trail, Showmanship, Barrels, Poles, Keyhole.  Saturday March 24, Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Reining, Barrels, Poles, 75 up & back.  And Saturday April 21, Western Pleasure, Western Riding, Horsemanship, Barrels, Poles, Flags.  For more info please contact Judy Bollig at 719-671-2210.

Back Country Horsemen:  Mission:  To keep trails open on public land for recreational use for horses.  Members open trails and maintain them besides going on spectacular rides. (719) 372-0317 email:  loy@ris.net 

Perc (Penrose English Riding Club):  Local chapter of Rocky Mountain Dressage Society, promotes dressage training, drill team riding and camaraderie   Meetings are the 1st Wednesday of each month.

Rocky Mountain Wagon Masters:  A group that specializes in driving.  Contact Howard Green at (719) 372-3537

Royal Gorge Rodeo Association:  Dedicated to having PRCA events and much more, see full details by clicking here!

Front Range Back Country Horsemen,.  A local chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of America.  web site:  www.backcountryhorse.com   Meets the 3rd Thursday of April, June, August and October at the Regional Forest Service Office on Simms in Lakewood at 7:00 PM.  Holds trail work days using horses mainly on trails in the Pike National Forest and is involved in "Leave No Trace" back country education involving pack and saddle stock.  303-646-2135 or  jchaney1524@aol.com 

The Horsin-Around Small Equine Club:  For those involved with miniature horses!   Activities,  learning opportunities, and shows.   For information call Warren Sellwood at 948-5496, Guy Baney at 275-5859 or Larry Schoor at 269-8333.

 

Penrose Horses and Hounds-Margie McNew @ 372-3648-meetings are 1st Tuesday of every  month at Penrose Senior Center.  Club plans fund raisers and shows.

Los Caballeros-Randy & Virginia Haynes @ 275-5245-meetings are 1st Thursday of every month at the 4H building.

Rocking Horses & Roses-Amber VanHouten @ 372-0558-meetings are 1st Monday of every month.  Look at  "Shows" above for the dates this club sponsors-open to everyone!

Hoofbeats-Sally Strom @ 275-5162   Club focus is on safety and making riding fun!
